Speccing a blast cabinet or blaster? Tell us what parts you’re finishing and your throughput, and we’ll match you to the right equipment and media.

In-line sandblast systems are ideal for high-volume production of parts that cannot be subjected to part-on-part contact. Several types of conveyor systems are available to move your parts through the blasting area with optimal efficiency and exposure to the blast stream, on top and bottom surfaces if needed. Depending on the parts’ shapes and dimensions, the blasting area can be equipped with fixed nozzles, oscillating nozzles on a vertical/horizontal axis, mounted on a rotary head or precisely manipulated by a robotic arm.

Description

The Pass-Through / Inline Conveyor Sandblast System automates continuous-flow surface preparation. Parts travel through the blast chamber on a conveyor, with adjustable travel speed and blast exposure to handle high-volume production of parts that vary in shape, size, and complexity.

  • Continuous-flow (in-line) processing for high throughput
  • Tunable cyclonic abrasive media recovery, standard
  • Self-cleaning cartridge dust collection
  • PLC control with HMI touch screen
  • Optional parts-handling robots and loading/unloading systems

Part of your finishing line: Abrasive blasting is step one of surface prep. Once parts move to paint, keep spray guns clean with a spray gun washer and reclaim your cleaning solvent with a solvent recycler. See how it all connects in From Blasting to Painting.

Rotary Blast Head, Up Close

The rotary blast head is the heart of Kresco’s continuous-flow blasting program. Each head is custom-built for the parts you run, with 6, 9 or 11 individually adjustable nozzles and head diameters available up to 36″ (900 mm). Direct-drive design reduces wear on the bearing block and lowers noise, while abrasion-resistant urethane piping and quick-access service points keep maintenance short. The result is a uniform, repeatable blast pattern across flat, voluminous or complex components — without an operator holding a nozzle.

Built for Production Lines

A standard system pairs the 123″ blast cabinet (127″ tall) with variable-length loading and unloading roller conveyors, so long profiles and beams pass straight through while small parts ride secure. Entry, blast and exit chambers each carry dust-collection connections, walls are rubber-lined against abrasion, and built-in safety switches prevent service doors from opening during operation. Used media is recycled through a cyclone separator (optional magnetic separator), with large particles screened out by a rotating drum. Robot loading/unloading integrates cleanly, and a 7″ HMI touchscreen with PLC control runs the whole cell — the front-panel controls you see in the photo above.

Continuous-flow rotary head systems serve general manufacturing, aerospace, marine, automotive, petroleum, power & energy and pharmaceutical production. Every system is engineered to your parts and throughput — talk to us about a design review, or pair it with a Kresco cartridge dust collector sized for your line.
