VCI Shrink Film

VCI shrink film is shrink wrap with vapor corrosion inhibitors built into the resin. It does two jobs in one layer: it keeps water and contamination off the equipment, and it stops the moisture sealed inside the package from causing rust. The inhibitors vaporize inside the closed package and settle on every metal surface — including the ones you cannot spray. Parts come out ready to use, with no cleaning or degreasing step.

Which grade you need comes down to sun and time

VpCI®-126 Blue HP — indoor storage and short-term outdoor. Cortec rates it for up to five years of multimetal protection in a closed package; shrinks up to 80%, recyclable and non-hazardous. 6 mil.

VpCI®-126 Blue HP UV — the same corrosion chemistry, UV stabilized. For packages that will see months of direct sun, where an unstabilized film would chalk, embrittle and split long before the chemistry gives out. 10 mil.

MilCorr® — 10–12 mil heavy-duty with high UV protection, for vehicles, generator sets and large equipment in long-term outdoor layup and severe environments. Conforms to MIL-PRF-22019 D and MIL-B-22020 D.

Now printed for identification

As of August 2026, Cortec prints product identification directly onto these films during production — VpCI®-126 and HP UV with the standard VpCI®-126 plates, MilCorr® with its own plate. You can confirm the grade at receiving and on the wrapped unit in the yard, rather than taking a data sheet’s word for it.
