A wood finishing line runs on lacquer thinner and acetone, and most of it gets used once. Solvent Recycling Systems supplies the equipment that lets cabinet shops, wood flooring plants and furniture finishers reuse cleanup solvent instead of paying to haul it away.

Where the solvent goes in a finishing room
Gun and line cleanup
Every color change and every end of shift means flushing guns, cups, pumps and fluid lines. Done by hand, it uses more thinner than it needs to. An enclosed gun washer does the same job with less solvent and keeps it contained.
What we supply: solvent-based and water-based spray gun washers.
Dirty thinner and acetone
Used cleanup solvent is still mostly solvent, carrying stain, sealer and lacquer solids. A batch recycler distills the solvent out and leaves the solids behind in a liner bag, so the solvent goes back to the finishing room and only the residue goes out as waste.
What we supply: batch solvent recyclers from 8 to 64 gallons. See which solvents recycle well on our recyclable solvents page.
Already own a recycler?
Many wood shops already run one, and what they need from us is consumables. We stock bags and liners in every size, along with thermic oil and lid seals, for IST, ISTpure and Kresco recyclers, plus compatible bags for Uni-ram units.
What we supply: recycler bags and liners and recycler spare parts.
Three questions that decide whether a recycler pays
How much do you use?
Gallons of thinner and acetone purchased per month. Volume decides the machine size, and sometimes it says you do not need one yet.
What does disposal cost?
The hauler invoice, plus the drums, plus the labor to stage them. Most shops know the first number and have never added the other two.
What is in the waste?
Lacquers, conversion varnish, stains and waterborne finishes behave differently in a still. Nitrocellulose in particular needs to be discussed before you buy, so it is the first thing we ask about.

Tell us about your finishing room
It helps to know which finishes you spray, which cleanup solvents you use, roughly how many gallons a month, and how you dispose of waste now.
