Blast, Gun Wash, Solvent Recycling & Rust Prevention for Paint Booths and Finishing Lines

If you run a paint booth, you are running four processes, and most shops buy each one from a different supplier. Solvent Recycling Systems supplies the whole line — surface prep, gun cleaning, solvent recovery and rust prevention — so the pieces are sized to work together.

The four steps around every paint booth

1. Surface prep — before the part reaches the booth

Coating failures usually start with the surface, not the paint. Mill scale, rust, old coating and weld discoloration all have to come off, and the part needs a consistent anchor profile for the coating to grip.

What we supply: abrasive blast rooms, blast cabinets and automated blasting systems. If you are sizing a room, start with our blast room buyer’s guide.

2. Between blast and paint — the flash rust window

Freshly blasted or washed steel is bare and reactive. If parts sit overnight, or over a weekend, before they are coated, they can rust before the primer ever goes on.

What we supply: Cortec VpCI rust prevention — liquids, films, papers and emitters that protect parts in staging and storage.

3. Gun cleaning and color changes

Cleaning guns, cups and lines by hand in an open pail uses more thinner than the job needs and exposes the painter to it. An enclosed gun washer cleans faster, with less solvent, and keeps the solvent contained for reuse.

What we supply: solvent-based and water-based spray gun washers.

4. Dirty thinner — the drum you pay for twice

You buy clean thinner, use it once for cleanup, then pay a hauler to take it away. Most of what leaves is still usable solvent carrying a small amount of paint solids. A batch recycler distills the solvent back out on site, so you dispose of the solids instead of the whole drum.

What we supply: batch solvent recyclers, recycler bags and liners, and recyclable solvents. Run your own numbers with the ROI calculator.

Why buy it as a package

The gun washer feeds the recycler. The recycler’s output goes back into the gun washer. The blast room decides how much rust prevention you need in staging. Sized together, each machine is matched to the volume the others produce. You do not have to buy all four at once, and many shops start with whichever step is costing them the most.

Tell us what your finishing line looks like

It helps to know what you coat (liquid, powder or both), which thinners and cleanup solvents you use, roughly how many gallons you go through in a month, how you dispose of waste solvent now, and the largest part you need to blast.
