Plastic media is the dust-free abrasive for stripping paint, primer, powder coat, carbon and sealants from parts that cannot be scratched: aircraft skins and anodized or alclad aluminum, automotive and truck bodies, boats, engine blocks, molds, electronics and circuit boards, and thin-gauge or fiberglass components. Made from a special plastic alloy with high tensile and flexural strength but low hardness, it cleans aggressively while leaving the substrate untouched. Supplied by Solvent Recycling Systems in 250 lb fiber drums in three types and six mesh ranges.
Plastic media: sharp-edged particles that strip coatings without scratching the substrate.

Best for
Type II urea (T-2)
54–62
The most versatile: automotive, aviation, mass transit, trucks; strips paints, coatings, hydrocarbons, oils, waxes, adhesives and sealants
Type III melamine (T-3)
64–72
Very aggressive and fast: paints, inks, hydrocarbon deposits and stubborn material on molds, engines, iron and steel
Type V acrylic (T-5)
46–54
High strip rate with no surface change: aircraft components, powder coat removal on aluminum, thin fiberglass and thin-gauge metal
Type II urea, 16/20 mesh (left) is the all-rounder; Type III melamine, 20/30 mesh is the aggressive option.
