VpCI

VpCI (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor) is Cortec’s core patented technology — a chemistry that vaporizes inside an enclosed space and forms an invisible protective layer on bare metal, stopping rust before it starts. This category is the full VpCI product family, from small emitters to roll stock packaging for high-volume shippers.

What’s Here

  • VpCI-126 Blue Bags, Film & Gussetted Bags — heat-seal bags, extruded film roll stock, and gussetted bags for wrapping or bagging metal parts, available in dozens of sizes up to 72" roll stock
  • VpCI-146 Multi-Metal Kraft Paper — 30#, 35#, and 60# weight rolls for interleaving stamped or machined parts during storage and shipping
  • VpCI Foam & Emitters — VpCI-101, 111, 133, 136, 137, 150, 170 and BioPad emitters that protect electrical cabinets, tool boxes, and enclosed equipment without any liquid or spray
  • VpCI Cleaners & Wipes — VpCI-416, EcoAir 414/422, ElectriCorr VpCI-238, and Corwipe 300/500 wipes that clean and leave corrosion protection behind
  • Desicorr & Cor-Pak — desiccant units and VCI pouches/tablets for sealed containers, crates, and electronics packaging

Which VpCI Product Do I Need?

It comes down to how the part is stored or shipped: loose in a box (use an emitter or Cor-Pak), individually wrapped (VpCI-126 film or bags), stacked flat (VpCI-146 paper interleave), or palletized for export (gussetted bags or shrink film). Not sure? Contact us with your part size and shipping method and we’ll spec it out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does VpCI protection last?
It depends on the product and how well the package stays sealed, but VpCI papers, films, and bags are rated for extended storage and export shipments, typically many months to a few years when kept sealed.

Does VpCI leave a residue on parts?
No — the molecular layer VpCI forms is invisible and does not need to be removed before the part goes into service, though it can be wiped or degreased off if required by a downstream process.

Can I use VpCI packaging alongside my parts washer or solvent recycler?
Yes — many shops running a solvent recycler or parts washer use VpCI packaging as the last step before parts are boxed or shipped, closing the gap between clean and rust-free.
