The Kresco PowerBlast™ Series is a line of heavy-duty industrial sandblast cabinets built for production shops that blast all day: eleven pre-engineered sizes from 28″ × 36″ up to 72″ × 72″ working dimensions, 12-gauge welded steel construction, a tunable cyclonic media separator, a self-cleaning cartridge dust collector, and your choice of suction or pressure delivery. Every cabinet is built to order in Kresco’s shop in Quebec, Canada, and backed by a two-year industrial warranty. Suction or Pressure: Which PowerBlast Do You Need?
The cabinet is the same; what changes is how the abrasive gets to the nozzle.
- Suction (siphon) cabinets pull media from the hopper with an air jet in the gun. Lower air demand, simpler to run, ideal for glass bead, aluminum oxide and plastic media on cleaning, deburring and finishing work. A 3/8″ nozzle with a 3/16″ air jet draws about 48 CFM at 80 PSI.
- Pressure cabinets add a 1.5 cu ft pressure pot under the cyclone that pushes media through the hose at line pressure. Much faster on heavy scale, rust and coatings, and the usual choice when you run steel grit or shot. A 3/8″ nozzle at 80 PSI needs about 161 CFM, so check your compressor first.

All PowerBlast cabinets are 75″ tall overall with a 35″ interior height. Choose by the largest part you need to turn inside the cabinet and by the door opening you need to load it.

Media Recovery: Tunable Cyclonic Separator
Every PowerBlast cabinet ships with a stand-alone cyclonic separator that uses centrifugal force to pull dust, paint chips, rust and broken-down fines out of the airstream and return good abrasive to the storage hopper. An adjustable air inlet lets you tune it to the media you run, from light glass bead to steel grit, angular or spherical, in any mesh size. A large debris trap drawer catches the junk. The separator is sized to the dust collector:

Dust Collection: Self-Cleaning Cartridge Collectors
PowerBlast cabinets are ventilated by a Kresco CDC cartridge dust collector with automatic pulse cleaning, a dust drum on a trolley and an optional fan muffler that keeps noise under 80 dB. Collector size follows cabinet size and how dirty the parts are:

Ergonomic Options for Long Shifts
Kresco designed the PowerBlast around operators who blast for hours, not minutes. Standard on every cabinet: foot-controlled blast gun, ergonomic-height controls, two product loading doors and a large view window. Add-ons:

- Work turntable (rubber-lined available)

Multi work station cabinets
Because the PowerBlast is modular, Kresco also builds it as a multi work station cabinet: one enclosure with more than one operator station, so two people can blast at the same time when a single cabinet has become the bottleneck. Construction Options and Code Compliance
- Rubber lining — 1/8″ heavy-duty rubber sheet on cabinet walls, the cyclonic separator and the work turntable extends equipment life when running aggressive media.
- Door safety switch — interrupts blasting the moment a door opens.
- Door safety lock — keeps doors locked for a set time after blasting stops so dust settles before the operator opens up.
- Code compliant — Kresco cabinets and their pre-engineered features are approved for industrial and commercial use in both Canada and the United States.
Blast Guns, Nozzles and Wear Parts
We stock the consumables that keep a PowerBlast running:
- G5 suction gun (standard on suction cabinets) and SH5 (aluminum or steel body) with ceramic, tungsten carbide or boron carbide nozzles in 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″ and 7/16″, paired with 1/8″ to 7/32″ air jets.
- G15 heavy-duty suction gun with 3/4″ nozzle adaptor and repair kit.
- Cabinet gloves — 30″ leather-sleeve gloves (GLO-VIN-8 / GLO-VIN-10 for 8″ and 10″ ports), 40-mil natural rubber gauntlet, fleece lined, EN388 abrasion level 4. Vinyl/Naugahyde-sleeve versions for CleanBlast cabinets.
- Lexan window protectors, cartridge filters, media regulation valves and pop-up plungers for pressure models.

Where PowerBlast Cabinets Earn Their Keep
Machine shops and job shops prepping weldments for paint, powder coaters removing scale before coating, firearms and aerospace component finishing with glass bead or aluminum oxide, foundries cleaning castings, and maintenance departments stripping parts for rebuild. Blasted steel starts flash-rusting within hours, so most of our cabinet customers also run a Cortec VpCI rust preventative step right after the cabinet.
