Description
Kresco internal pipe blasting tools put the nozzle inside the pipe. Instead of trying to reach a bore with a hand-held nozzle, a ConeBlast or Tornado head travels down the pipe on a centering carriage and throws a 360° blast pattern at the wall, so the whole internal surface gets the same profile for coating. They cover pipe from 3/4″ to 60″ inside diameter, work in a blast room or on site, and run on any standard pressure pot with your usual abrasive — metallic or non-metallic.
Applications: internal pipe cleaning before lining or coating, descaling, corrosion removal, pipeline spool and riser refurbishment, hydraulic cylinder bores, tube bundles.

ConeBlast — 3/4″ to 12″ ID
For small pipe. A fixed cone deflector at the tip of a venturi nozzle spreads the stream into a 360° pattern. Rugged, no moving parts, and the ½” version takes a scissor centering carriage so the nozzle stays on the pipe axis as you feed it through.
| ConeBlast 1/4″ | ConeBlast 1/2″ | |
|---|---|---|
| Pipe ID | 3/4″ to 2″ | 2″ to 12″ |
| Blast pattern | Concentrated 360° | Wide 360° deflection |
| Construction | Tungsten venturi nozzle system for maximum abrasive acceleration | High-chrome machined exterior, long-life wear-resistant tungsten internals |
| Nozzle tip | Tungsten carbide | Tungsten carbide or long-life boron carbide |

Tornado — 8″ to 60″ ID
For large pipe. A rotating blast head driven by the blast air itself spins twin nozzles around the bore. The venturi-injector rotary seal is non-jamming, the spring-loaded dual seal and bleed-air venting keep abrasive out of the bearing, and a twin-shoe speed limiter holds rotation steady so the pattern is even. Standard heads fit 3/4″ fine-thread nozzles; the optional contractor head takes 2″ contractor-thread nozzles for 40″–60″ pipe.
- Rotation driven by blast air supply — no separate motor
- Twin abrasive nozzle fittings; rotating heads in 3/4″, 1¼” and 2″
- Thermoplastic sleeve, spring-loaded dual sealing system
- Choice of tungsten carbide or extended-life boron carbide nozzles
- Three centering carriage sizes; compatible with metallic and non-metallic abrasives

How It Fits Your Operation
- In a blast room: lay the pipe on stands or a pipe rotator, feed the tool through from one end; the room’s dust collector handles the exhaust. See blast rooms.
- In an automated cell: the Kresco Cylinder & Pipe Blaster builds the internal lance into a machine that blasts outside and inside in one cycle, for batch work from 3/4″ to 60″.
- On site: the tools run from any pressure pot; add a vacuum recovery head or a portable cartridge dust collector for containment.
- After blasting: freshly profiled steel flash-rusts in hours in humid conditions. Fog the bore with a Cortec VpCI inhibitor or cap the ends with VpCI film if coating is more than a shift away.
Nozzle wear matters even more inside a pipe, where you can’t see the pattern: use the drill-bit test in our blast room maintenance checklist and keep a spare tungsten or boron carbide tip on the shelf.
